Atelier Ink

2026Atelier Ink

A bilingual site for Atelier Ink, a tattoo studio in Görlitz, Germany, with a multi-step booking flow for scheduling sessions with any of its six artists.

Context

The Problem

Atelier Ink is a tattoo studio in Görlitz, Germany, working with local German clients and an international audience, and needed a site that could present its six artists individually and let clients book a consultation without a back-and-forth over email.

No self-serve way to book a sessionSix artists needed individual portfolios, not one shared pageGerman and English audiences needed the same site, not two

My Role

Design

  • Designed the Work, Artists, and Services pages in Figma, filterable by tattoo style
  • Designed the four-step booking flow: date and time, placement and style, details, confirm

Frontend

  • Next.js 16 and React 19 with next-intl for English and German
  • Built the multi-step booking modal with a calendar date and time picker
  • Work, Artists, About, FAQ, and Contact pages, each artist with their own profile

Backend

  • Supabase set up for authentication and content as the booking backend comes online

Infrastructure & DevOps

  • Vercel for deployment

Solution & Process

Design Validation

Built the booking flow as four short steps, date and time, placement and style, details, confirm, instead of a single long form, so a client can commit to a session without it feeling like paperwork.

Technical Stack Selection

Built on Next.js 16 with the App Router and next-intl for locale-aware routing between English and German. Supabase is wired in for authentication and data as the booking and content backend comes online.

Technical Decisions & Trade-offs

Chose next-intl's locale-prefixed routing over a single-language site with a translation toggle, so the German and English versions are both fully indexable pages rather than client-side swapped text.
